Horse- and Cattle-stealing.

The mare, the property of Walter Churton, reported stolen from No. 3 Line, Wanganui, has been recovered. She was not stolen.

Stolen on the 26th or 27th ultimo, from a paddock at Epsom, near Auckland, a bay pony-mare, aged, mane cut square, tail cut very short and square ; the property of James White ; value £3. Identifiable.

Supposed stolen on the 3rd instant, from a paddock at Gisborne, a dark-bay saddle-gelding, aged, 15J hands high, star on forehead, bobtail, a few grey hairs at root of tail, fore legs rather straight, carries his head high, spur-brand on near shoulder; the property of Samuel S. Wilson ; value £ls. Identifiable. The horse is well-known in the Poverty Bay District by the name of “ The Doctor.”

John Henderson, alias McKenzie, alias Hans Hanson, is charged, on warrant issued by the Dargaville Bench, with the larceny as a bailee, on the 3rd instant, at Kaihu, of a horse, saddle, and bridle, value £B, since recovered ; the property of Poaka Parore. Description : A foreigner, speaks broken English, a gum-digger, about fifty years of age, sft. lOin. high, stout build, sandy complexion, hair turning grey; wore light-coloured clothes and cheese-cutter cap ; fond of talking of his land and horses. He sold the horse, saddle, and bridle at Maropui. He is supposed to have gone towards Hokianga.

Supposed stolen on the 21st ultimo, from a paddock at Opawa, Christchurch District, a bay draught-gelding, about 15 hands high, white nose, star on forehead, branded DO in Roman capitals on near shoulder; the property of J. Donnelly ; value £3. Identifiable.
