Horse- and Cattle-Stealing.

Supposed stolen during the night of the Ist instant, from a paddock at St. Albans, Christchurch, a black gelding, aged, about 16 hands high, branded X on near shoulder, a halt in hind legs ; the property of John Russell; value £lO. Identifiable.

Supposed stolen about the 12th ultimo, at Upper Riccarton, Christchurch, a bay horse, hack-breed, aged, 15£ hands high, saddle-marked, branded TA on near shoulder, value £2O; and a mouse-coloured horse, pony-breed, seven years old, 14 hands high, unbranded, value £l3; the property of F. de C. Malet. Identifiable.

Stolen between 11 p.m. on the 10th and 5.30 a.m. on the lltli instant, from a stable at Ponsonby Road, Auckland, a bay mare with black points, four years old, 14 hands high, switch tail, space for bridle cut out of mane, in fair condition, newly shod; the property of Robert Gray; value £lO. Identifiable. Suspicion attached to Frederick Harris, alias Johnston, about twenty years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, medium build, fair hair and complexion, no hair on face; usually wears grey-tweed suit. He is supposed to have gone to Drury or Hawke’s Bay.
