(See Police Gazette , 1885, page 203.) Fkederick E. Parsons, charged on warrant with the larceny as a bailee of £4, at Ashbourne Ferry Road, near Christchurch, the property of John Merson, has been arrested by Constable Palmontain, Greymouth Police.

Love, alias Henry Francis Smith, charged on warrant with the larceny as a bailee of a watch, the property of Robert John Tanner, has been arrested by Detective Robert Bain, Dunedin Police, and sentenced to one month’s labour. He was also sentenced to one month’s labour for stealing a watch at Port Chalmers on the 9tli instant, the property of James Garrick.

Stolen from the premises of Malcolm Stevenson, at Opua, near Opunake (date not given), a fryingpan with a small hole in the bottom, a garden-hoe, a billhook with MS cut in handle, and a spade; value 12s. Fryingpan and billhook identifiable. Maoris suspected.
