Wm. F. DRUMMOND JERVOIS, Governor. IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority in this behalf enabling me, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby fix and appoint that a sitting of the District Court of Westland shall be held as follows : In the Courthouse at Westport, for the despatch of civil and criminal business, on Thursday, the third day of De-. cember next. As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor this eleventh day of November, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five. Jos. A. TOLE.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Sergeant Henry McArdle to be an Inspector of Weights and Measures for the Borough of Greymouth and the County of Grey, vice Sergeant-major O’Grady, transferred. TTI HE following land has been temporarily reserved from I sale and set apart for police purposes, viz.:— All that parcel of land, being Sections Nos. 3, 10, and 11, Town of Denniston, Comity of Buller. Bounded on the North-west by Waimangaroa Road, 100 links; on the Northeast by Sections Nos. 4 and 12, 250 links ; on the South-east by Argyle Street, 100 links; and on the South-west by Sections Nos. 2 and 9, 250 links; and containing by admeasurement 1 rood. All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Canterburv, containing by admeasurement 9 acres 2 roods 21 perches, more or less, being Section No. 2683 (in red), situate in the Town of Geraldine. Bounded towards the North-east by High Street, 1500 links; towards the North-west by the north-western boundary of the said town, 1218 links ; towards the South-east by Barker Street 602 links, by a lino bearing 264° 22' 843 links, and also by Shaw Street 196 links : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the District Survey Office, Christchurch.
