The sum of £lO has been awarded to Constable William John Pbair, tho Port Police, Nelson, for the arrest of two deserters from the barque “ Ardendee.”

The sums of £25, £2O, £lO, and £5 respectively have been awarded by the Customs Department to Inspector Samuel Goodall, Sergeant James Anderson, and Constables Thomas P. Lister and George A. Tapp, Wellington and Taranaki Police, in recognition of their services in connection with the seizure of an illicit still, &c., and the arrest of Michael Bourke and George Moss, fined £2OO each; John Anderson and Peter Smith, fined £IOO each, or, in default, six months’ imprisonment; and Thomas Lloyd, fined £SO. Bourke, Moss, and Lloyd paid their fines.
