Wm. F. DRUMMOND JERVOIS, Governor, By his Deputy, JAMES PRENDERGAST.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “ The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and “Tho Animals Protection Act Amendment Act, 1881,” I, James Prendergast, in the name and on behalf of His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, and as his duly-appointed Deputy, do hereby notify that cock-pheasants may bo taken or killed within the Taranaki District, consisting of the Counties of Taranaki and Clifton, from the first day of May, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, both inclusive (subject nevertheless to the restrictions in the said Acts mentioned). And I do further notify that licenses to take or kill such game within the said district shall be issued on payment of the sum of twenty shillings each, and that licenses to sell such game shall be issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each ; and the Chief Postmaster at New Plymouth is hereby appointed to issue the said licenses. And I do further notify that native game (excepting tuis) may be taken or killed within the said district from the first day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eightyfive, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, both inclusive. As witness the hand of His Excellency Sir James Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice, as such Deputy of the said Governor as aforesaid, this fifth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “ Tho Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and “ The Animals Protection Act Amendment Act, 1881,” I, James Prendergast, in the name and on behalf of His Excellency the Governor of tho Colony of New Zealand, and as his duly-appointed Deputy, do hereby notify that cock-pheasants and quail may be taken or killed within the Waitaki District, comprising the County of Waitaki, from the first day of June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, both inclusive, and that hares may be taken and killed, either by shooting or coursing, from the first day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, to the thirty-first day of August, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, both inclusive (subject nevertheless to the restrictions in the said Acts mentioned). And I do further notify that licenses to take or kill such game within tho said district shall be issued on payment of the sum of twenty shillings each, and that licenses to sell such game shall be issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each; and the Chief Postmaster at Oamaru is hereby appointed to issue the said licenses. And Ido further notify that native game (excepting tuis) may be taken or killed within the said district from the first day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, both inclusive. And I do further notify that licenses to take or kill such game within the said district shall be issued on payment of the sum of ten shillings each, and that licenses to sell such game shall be issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each ; and the Postmaster at Queenstown is hereby appointed to issue the said licenses. And I do further notify that native game (excepting tuis) may be taken or killed within the said district from the first day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, both inclusive.
