£SO Reward,

Whereas on the 3rd December, 1884, at Nenthome, in the Provincial District of Otago, William Meldrumwas murdered, and whereas one Gerald Fitzgerald (herein described) is charged on warrant with the murder of the said William Meldrum:

Notice is hereby given that the above reward will be paid by Government for such information as will lead to the arrest of the said Gerald Fitzgerald. Description: About twenty-eight years of age, 5 feet 10 inches, stout, strong, wiry build, fair complexion, fairish hair, described by some fairish-brown, by others as fairishsandy, short whiskers, moustache, and beard, blue eyes, pleasing appearance, and knits his brows when speaking, has a peculiar expression of mouth when speaking, a scar recently made over one eye, an Irishman; a shearer, labourer, and station-hand; knows the country well; arrived at Port Chalmers in the ship “ Timaru ” in 1878.
