John Fitzgibbons is charged, on warrant issued by the Maketu Bench, with the larceny as a bailee, on or about the 10th ultimo, at Maketu, of 7 yards of blue flannel, 3 yards of black lustre, and a box smoothing-iron; the property of George Thornton; value £1 2s. 6d. Description: Irish, a tailor, forty-one years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, slight build, sallow complexion, brown hair turning grey, scar on right eyebrow, two Ds on left side, marks of corporal punishment on back; wore black clothes and black hat. It is supposed he has gone to Te Aroha.

Stolen on the 14th ultimo, from a harvest-field at Stoke, Canterbury, a double-cased silver lever hunting - watch, “ Rotherham ” stamped on inside of case, No. 7408, steel guard attached, value £7; a black-cloth coat, a grey-tweed vest, and a new guernsey jacket; value £1 10s.; the property of Patrick O’Brien. Identifiable except guernsey. Suspicion attached to William Brown, English, a shearer and labourer, about fifty-two years of age, about 5 feet 4 inches high, dark beard whiskers and moustache turning grey; wore light clothes ; carried a blue-blanket swag.

Stolen during the night of the 9th ultimo, at Tapanui, a steel-wire cage with wooden bottom, containing a green-and-red paroquet; the bird can say “ Good morning,” and “ How do this morning;” the property of Mee Chang; value £2. Identifiable.

Stolen on the 4th ultimo, from the ladies’ waiting-room at the Christchurch Railway-station, a ladies’ black-and-white square wickerwork basket with two handles, containing a pair of black-kid gloves, two Home letters, a letter addressed “ Mrs. Duncan, Papanui Road,” two sets of beads, one black and one brown, with crosses thereon, a needlebook containing some black hair, some small tin photographs, and a tooth-brush; the property of Margaret Hogan. Identifiable.

Stolen on the 31st December last, at East Belt, Christchurch, a large door-key, and a cocoanut door-mat about 3 by 2 feet; the property of John Goodman; value 12s. 6d. Identifiable.

Stolen during the night of the 15th ultimo, from Raukapuka Station, Geraldine, a large sheep-dog, smooth black haii’, a white spot on breast, one of fore paws white except a few black hairs, short nose, a small old scar-mark on bridge, had on a registration collar for last year, answers to the name “Sharp;” and a long dog-chain; the property of William Postlethwaite ; value £lO. Stolen on the 7th ultimo, from the pavilion at the Basin Reserve, Wellington, a silver Waltham keyless huntingwatch, No. 1766145, a silver albert chain, links about an inch long with a twist in each, and a small silver compass; the property of J. P. Kennedy ; value £8 10s. Identifiable.

Stolen on the 22nd or 23rd ultimo, from a cabin on board the steamer “ British Queen,” at Wellington, or between there and Lyttelton, two sovereigns, 235. in silver, ten 10cent pieces, and two Brazilian coins; the property of John Den. Foreign coins identifiable. Suspicion attached to a man only known as Bob, Scotch, a cook, about twenty-six years of age, about 5 feet 6 inches high, slight build, dark hair and eyes, clean-shaved except moustache. He is supposed to be in Wellington.

Stolen between the 11th and 18th ultimo, from a box in the garden of the Wallacetown Junction Hotel, near Invercargill, two male ferrets, one dark and tan and the other light yellow, and a light yellow female ferret; the property of John Mclntosh; value £2. Identification doubtful.

Stolen between the 15th and 17th ultimo, from a box on board the steamer “ Hawea,” between Nelson and Onehunga, a gold necklet, rope-pattern, a gold oval locket, about 2 by 1£ inches, chased on back, set with a ring of pearls with two rubies in centre; the property of Agnes Wybar; value £6. Identifiable.

Stolen between the Ist and 3rd ultimo, from an unoccupied house at Auckland, about 20 lb. of lead piping, 1 inch in diameter; an old kauri table, by 2£ feet; tw'o handsewing machines, maker’s names not known; and an old tin tea-kettle; the property of Henry Keesing; value £7. Identifiable except piping.
