(L.s.) Wm. F. DRUMMOND JERVOIS, Governor. A PROCLAMATION. IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section three of “ The Licensing Act Amendment Act, 1882,” I, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the Licensing Districts of Balclutha North and Balclutha South shall be amalgamated under the name of the Balclutha Licensing District, as from the fourteenth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four; and that, as from the said date, the said Licensing Districts of Balclutha North and Balclutha South shall be abolished.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Gross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this eleventh day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four. Licensing District altered.

WHEREAS by the sixth section of “ The Licensing Act, 1881,” it is enacted that the Governor shall, as soon as conveniently may be after the commencement of the said Act, by Proclamation in the Gazette, from time to time define districts to be licensing districts under the said Act, and from time to time may alter and redefine the boundaries of the same:

And whereas it is expedient to alter and redefine the boundaries of the District of Maungatawhiri: Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the said Act, alter and redefine the boundaries of the Maungatawhiri District, which shall henceforth be those described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE. County of Manukau. Maungatawhiri Licensing District. —Comprises all that area known as the Load Districts of Pukekohe East and Maungatawhiri, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 42, of the 18th May, 1883. JN exercise of the powers vested in me by “ The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and “ The Animals Protection Act Amendment Act, 1881,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare that native game (excepting tuis) may be taken or killed within the Wanganui District, consisting of the Counties of Wanganui and Rangitikci, from the first day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, both inclusive.
