The sum of £2 each has been awarded to Sergeant William Thomas Mason and Constables Patrick McCormack, and Thomas Drake, Lyttelton Police, for the arrest of three deserters from the barque “ Ada W. Melmore.”

The sum of £lO each has been awarded to Detective Thomas Neil and Sergeant Francis H. Morice, and the sums of £3 and £1 respectively to Constables Baptist Wallace and William Daly, Christchurch Police, in recognition of their services in connection with the arrest and prosecution of Joseph Cryer, fined £25 and costs for smuggling jewellery; value about £2OO. The jewellery was confiscated.
