Incendiarism.
About 4 o’clock on the morning of the 31st ultimo, at Lin wood, Canterbury, a wooden building, 12 by 10 feet, used as a washhouse, and containing a mangle, &c., the property of John Jamieson, value £IOO, was, with contents, maliciously destroyed by fire. The property destroyed was insured in the Liverpool, London, and Globe Office.
On the morning of the 24th ultimo, at Benmore, Southland, a stack of oaten straw, the property of John Shand, value £4O, was destroyed by fire, which it is supposed was maliciously caused.
