Deserters from Merchant Vessels.

William Lewis, William Owen, F. Johnston, Charles Hanson, and Peter Joseph are charged with deserting from the ship “ Bossdhu,” at Port Chalmers, on the 30th ultimo or Ist instant. Description: Lewis is English, twenty-five years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, stout build, fair hair and complexion, dark moustache. Owen is English, twenty-eight years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, stout build, dark complexion and eyes, dark hair moustache and goatee, cheeks shaved, sore on nose. Johnston is a Norwegian, twenty-six years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, fair complexion, fair hair beard whiskers and moustache. Hanson is a Norwegian, thirty-two years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, dark complexion and hair, black moustache and goatee, peculiar expression about eyes, round-shouldered. Joseph is an Italian, twenty-five years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, dark complexion, long prominent nose, dark hair moustache and goatee, cheeks shaved.
