In exercise of the powers vested in me by “ The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” I, Arthur Ilamilton Gordon, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare that, from and after the date hereof, the imported birds known as the Californian mountain quail and pintail grouse shall come within the operation of the said Act a 3 fully and effectually as if they had been included in the Third Schedule thereto.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fifth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-two. Thomas Dick.
