Deserters from Merchant Vessels.

John Levett and Henry Reeve, able seamen, are charged, on warrant issued by the Wellington Bench, with deserting from the ship “Piako” at Wellington on the 27th ultimo. Description : Levett is English, twenty-one years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, slight build, fair complexion, high cheek-bones, no hair on face, bandy legged. Reeve is English, twenty-two years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, stout build, florid complexion, red hair and moustache, face freckled. A reward of £3 and £2 respectively is offered for their arrest.

P. N. Harren, John Evensen, J. E. Jansen, A. A. Anderson, James Gordon, and Ludwig Larsen, are charged with deserting from the barque “Beatrice Havener” at Auckland on the 20th ultimo. Description: Harren is a Swede, twenty-six years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, medium build, light hair, clean-shaved except sandy moustache. Evensen is a Swede, twenty-eight years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, medium build, light hair and moustache. Jansen is a Swede, thirty years of ago, 5 feet 10 inches high, stout build, dark-brown hair and goatee. Anderson is a Swede, twenty-four years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, stout build, light hair, and small moustache. Gordon is English, twenty-four years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, medium build, sharp features, light hair, no hair on face. Larsen is a Swede, twenty-six years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, medium build, light hair, no hair on face. A reward of £1 each is offered for their arrest.

James Buckley and Frank Anderson are charged with deserting from the barque “ Tongoy ” at Port Chalmers on the 28th ultimo. Description : Buckley is English, nineteen years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, stout build, fresh complexion, grey eyes, light-sandy hair worn short, no hair on face. Anderson is an American, twenty-two years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, grey eyes, light-sandy beard whiskers and moustache.

George Yerner is charged with deserting from the barquentine “ Frey ”at Dunedin on the 4th instant Description: A Swede, a seaman, fourteen years of age, small for his age, fresh complexion, dark-blue eyes, full round features, darkbrown hair, large dark heavy 7 eyebrows. A reward of £5 will be paid for his arrest if effected on or before the 15th instant.
