A MAN who gave his name as John Baker, which is believed to be fictitious, is charged, on warrant issued by the Christchurch Bench, with obtaining, on the 27th April last, from James Word, sen., at Christchurch, by false representations, a horse-collar, a pair of cart-winkers, and a set of leading-chains * value £2 16s. 6d. Identifiable. Description : Between thirty and thirty-five years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, medium build, darkish hair, beard, whiskers, and moustache; active appearance, dressed like a labourer. Identifiable. He falsely represented that he was sent for the articles by Mr. Tancred, of Grass Lee, in whose employment he said he was.

Frenchy, alias Georgia Tulieri, is charged, on warrant issued by the New Plymouth Bench, with having, about the 9th ultimo, at Inglewood, obtained from William Carter goods valued £3l 18s. 6d., and cheques valued £4 14s.
