Attempted Murder.
On the 28th ultimo, at Punakitere, Auckland District, a fight ■with arms took place between the Natives of Otaua and Punakitere, owing to a dispute about land, when Aperahama Komene, of the Punakitere party, was wounded with a bullet in both thighs. He says that Ngamaka was one of three Natives who fired at. him and his party from behind a bush at a distance of about 12 yards. Komene Puakatahu led the Punakitere party, and Te Kuri the Otaua party.
