In exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the Governor of the Colony of Hew Zealand, do hereby notify that hares shall cease to come within the operation of the said Act within the District of South Canterbury, as defined in a notification of the said Act dated the thirteenth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-one, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the fourteenth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-one. As witness the hand of his Excellency the Governor, this second day of August, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-one.
