Deserters from Merchant Vessels.

(See Police Gazette, 1881, page 31.) Ernest Harnwell, charged with deserting from the ship “Lady Jocelyn,” at Auckland, has been arrested by Constable John Strathern, Auckland Police.

George Botes, Frederick Haryey, Neilsen, and Hansen are charged with deserting, between the 9th and 13th instant, from the barque “ Electra,” at Nelson. Description: Boyes is English, about thirty-two years of age, about 5 feet high, fair complexion, good-looking. Harvey is a Welshman, about thirty years of age, about 5 feet high, very dark swarthy complexion, dark beard, whiskers, and moustache.
