The sum of £3 has been awarded from the Reward Fund to Constable John Hartnett, Otago Police, in recognition of his promptitude in arresting John Bateman, sentenced at the last sittings of the Supreme Court- at Dunedin to twelve months’ labour for wounding with intent.

The sum of £2 lias been awarded from the Reward Fund to Constable Robert Neill, Lyttelton Police, in acknowledgment of the zeal shown by him in effecting the arrest of Francis Hopkins Yalpey, charged with embezzlement.

The sum of £4 each has been awarded to Detective Samuel Brennan and Constable Douglas Gordon, Auckland Police, for the arrest of Patimins, who deserted from Her Majesty’s ship “ Alacrity,” at Auckland.

The sum of £2 lias been awarded to Constable Nixon Scott,, Te Kopuru Police, for the arrest of a seaman who deserted from the schooner “ Cissy.”
