James Gamble is charged, on warrant issued by the Auckland Bench, with failing to pay for the support of his children, who are inmates of the Auckland Industrial School. Description : Irish, a labourer, forty years of age, 6 feet high, medium build, military appearance, square shoulders, dark-brown hair, beard, whiskers, and moustache, sometimes shaves his chin, slightly pockpitted. He is supposed to be working on the railway line between Inglewood and Stratford.

Henry Mitchell is charged, on warrant issued by the Auckland Bench, with failing to pay for the support of his children, who are inmates of the Auckland Industrial School. Description : English, a labourer, about forty years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, stout build, fair complexion, light-brown hair and whiskers, sometimes shaves his upper lip.

John Clarkson is charged, on warrant issued by the Papaturn Bench, with disobeying a summons to appear at Papakura on the 27th ultimo to answer a charge of having travelled on the Auckland and Ohaupo Railway without a ticket. Description : Scotch, a coal-miner, forty-two years of age, 5 feet 4£ inches high, dark complexion, brown hair, grey eyes, straight nose, and large mouth ; wore dark-tweed coat and vest, moleskin trousers, old cap, and lace-up boots ; fond of drink. He will likely be employed as stoker on a coastal steamer.
