Missing Friends.

Information -is requested respecting the whereabouts of Frederick Hemming, if living, or, if dead, the particulars of his death. Description : A hosiery commercial traveller, thirty-one years of age, 6 feet 1 inch high, slight build, very pale, small grey eyes, dark hair, bald, scar on forehead. He deserted his wife and family at Blackfriars Road, London, in February, 1877, and it is supposed came to this colony. His wife has been informed that he died in January, year not stated, and is buried in Nelson. Inquiry is made for him at the request of his wife, Emily Ann Hemming, 31, Jeffreys Road, Clupham, S.W.

Information is requested respecting the whereabouts of Edward Vaughan Arbuckle, forty-eight years of age, about 5 feet 10 inches high, red hair and moustache, no beard or whiskers, and no front teeth. He left Gravesend in October, 1873, by the ship “Agnes Winn,” for Otago, and was heard of at Dunedin in September last. Inquiry is made for him at the request of Major Arbuckle, Craigend, Bonnington, Edinburgh.

Information is requested respecting the whereabouts of Edward Valentine Gillmer, a grocer and agriculturist, thirtyone years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, stout build, fresh complexion, dark hair. He has married since he came to the colony. He directed his letters to be addressed to the Christchurch Post Office. Inquiry is made for him at the request of A. W. Gillmer, Kingsland, Herefordshire.
