Missing Friends.

Information is requested respecting the whereabouts of Charles Kirk, a carpenter, twenty years of age, about 5 feet 9 inches high, slight build, fresh complexion. He left Plymouth on the 3rd of November, 1877, by the ship “ Gainsborough ” for this colony, and was last heard of at Wellington in October last, in company with a carpenter named John Henderson, about twenty years of age. He had been previously at Blenheim. Inquiry is made for him at the (request of R. H. Kirk, Sedbury, Herefordshire, England.

Information is requested respecting the whereabouts of Thomas Englert, a German, a musician, and piano-tuner, fiftyone years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, two or three front teeth wanting; generally wears dark clothes and black hat; respectable appearance. He left Greymouth in January last, and soon after took a contract to clear bush at Pigeon Bay, Canterbury, where he had his letters addressed in care of Mr. Robinson, a grocer. In his last letter to his wife he said he intended to leave Pigeon Bay, and go to Wanganui. He had been employed as a schoolmaster at Marsden, in the Grey District, and he may again seek similar employment.

Information is requested respecting the whereabouts of John Albert Napier, who arrived at Dunedin from Christchurch on the 26th of March, 1878, and on the following day went up country, and was heard of at Balclutha on the 19th of August last. He may be employed on the railway line. No further particulars furnished. Inquiry is made for him at the request of his father, James Napier, 7, Yale Cottages, Greenwich, Kent.

Information is requested respecting the whereabouts of John Bushnell, a smith and ironmonger, about forty-six years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, dark hair, eyes, and complexion. . He left Gravesend by the ship “ Golden City,” in October, 1863, and was last heard of on the 4th of June, 1864, at the Swan Inn, Mechanics’ Bay, Auckland. Inquiry is made for him at the request of John Bushnell, Cobtree, Sandling, near Maidstone, Kent.

Information is requested respecting the whereabouts of William Cooke, a mechanic, thirty-one years of age, fair complexion, dark hair and moustache, a hole in cheek caused from tooth extraction. He left Plymouth on tho Bth of August last by the ship “ Edwin Fox ” for this colony. Inquiry is made for him at the request of his father, Henry Cooke.

Information is requested respecting the whereabouts of Francis McKenna, about forty years of age, who came to this colony with the 18th Regiment, where lie purchased his discharge. Inquiry is made for him at the request of his brother, John McKenna, Ayr, Scotland.
