Daniel Eagan is charged on warrant (Bench by whom issued not stated) with deserting his child,aged five months, at Ormond, since the 6th of February lust. Description: Irish, twenty-eight years of age, 6 feet 4 inches high, well built, active appearance, dark hair and whiskers, speaks fast. He frequents publichouses, and will likely be employed as a groom or carter. —.

Robert Castle is charged, on warrant issued by (he Waipawa Bench, with deserting his wife at Waipukurau since the Ist of February last. Description : English, a seaman, thirty years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, fresh complexion, light-brown hair. He had been employed for some time as a railway porter at Waipukurau, but is likely to be at present employed on a costal vessel.

Isabella llerrot is charged, on warrant issued by the Carlyle Bench, with deserting her female child, aged about fourteen months, at Wanganui, on the 13 th of July last. Description: Scotch, a milliner and dressmaker, about thirty years of age, but looks older, 5 feet 3 inches high, medium build, thin light brown hair turning grey, dark fresh complexion, lady-like appearance; generally wears a dark-silk dress. She left Wanganui about the 11th of July last by the steamer “ Wallabi ” for Onehunga.

Albert Potter is charged, on warrant issued by the Blenheim Bench, with deserting his wife at Blenheim since the 22nd of October last. Description : English, a labourer, twenty-five years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, fair hair and complexion, sandy beard and whiskers, blind of right eye, some of front teeth wanting ; wears small earrings, ; round shouldered and knock-kneed, turns bis feet out when walking. He was seen in Dunedin in December last.

Edward Price is charged, on warrant issued by tho Christchurch Bench, with-failing to provide his wife with adequate moans of support at Christchurch since the 26th of March last. Description : English, a painter by trade, but lias been a jockey, thirty-five years of age, 5 feet 2 inches high, slight build, darkbrown hair, brown whiskers and moustache, chin shaved ; wore dark-tweed suit with grey spots, and black billycock hat. He was

sentenced at Dunedin, on the 3rd April, 1876, to two years’ labour for horse-stealing. (Vide Police Gazette, 1878, page 40.) It is supposed he has gone to Timaru or Dunedin.

John Thomas Burbery is charged, on warrant issued by the Christchurch Bench, with failing to provide support for his wife and three children at Christchurch since February last. Description : A native of Adelaide, a labourer, twenty-eight years of age, 6 feet high, slight build, black hair, dark-brown bushy beard, whiskers, and moustache, aquiline nose ; when last seen wore black-cloth suit and white-straw hat; plays the violin, and carries one with him. He was heard of about six weeks ago from Toi Tois, Port Bose, Otago, where he was then employed road-making.
