Deserters from Merchant Vessels.

William Richards and William Howes are charged with deserting from the barque “Edwin Fox,” at Nelson, on the 25th November last. Description : Richards is English, about thirty years of age, 5 feet 2 inches high, stout build, dark hair, clean-shaved except black moustache. Howes is English, about twenty-two years of age, 5 feet 7 or S inches high, slight build, fair complexion, light-brown hair, and sandy beard.

John Ross, James Dixon, and George Prints are charged with deserting from the barque “Edwin Fox,” at Nelson, on the 15th ultimo. Description : Ross is Scotch, about twentyone years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, fresh complexion, no hair on face, good-looking. Dixon is a foreigner (country not stated), thirty years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, stout build, dark complexion, black whiskers and moustache. Prints is English, eighteen years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, fair complexion and hair, no hair on face.

Harry Vaughan is charged with deserting from the ship “ Lock Fleet,” at Auckland, on tho 17th ultimo. Description: English, twenty-three years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, medium build, dark complexion, black hair arid heard, slight moustache, cheeks shaved. A reward of £1 is offered for his arrest.

L. Anderson and Neils Neilson are charged with deserting from the brigantine “ Helen A. Holmes,” at Dunedin, on the 13th and 17th ultimo. Description : Anderson is a Swede, twenty-eight years of age, 5 feet eight inches high, stout build, ruddy complexion, fair hair, clean-shaved, except moustache, very broad features, middle finger of left hand sore, “L. Anderson” tattooed on left arm. Neilson is a Norwegian, twenty-eight years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, slight build, fair complexion, blue eyes, sore hands.

Duncan McKay, William Fink, Charles McCarthy, George Bloom, and William Worm, are charged, on warrant issued by the Wellington Bench, wit,deserting from the barque Edwin Bassett,” at Wellington, on the 30th ultimo. Description: McKay is a native of Auckland, thirty-one years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, stout build, dark complexion, light-brown hair and moustache, no beard, two joints of right thumb wanting; wore dark trousers and dark-striped shirt. Fink is English, twenty-eight years of age, 5 feet 5 or G inches high, slight build, sandy complexion, light hair, no hair on face, bow-legged ; wore moleskin trousers and striped shirt. McCarthy is Irish, twenty-one years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, light complexion, brown hair, no hair on face, smart appearance wore dark clothes. Bloom is Irish, twenty-seven years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, sandy complexion, light hair and full beard, left eye weak, over which the peak of his hat is generally drawn; wore dark suit. Worm is a native of Australia, twenty years of age, 5 feet 3 inches high, slight build, sandy complexion, brown hair, no hair on face, smart appearance; wore dark clothes. A reward of £2 each is offered for their arrest.
