(From Police Gazette, 2nd January, 1878, page 6.)

Information is requested of Mark Blake Daly, who left Victoria for Queensland about ten years ago. Ho was last heard of between two and three years ago in connection with a crushing machine at Charters Towers, but has since left there,

and his present whereabouts is now required.—O. 7919.—-31st December, 1877. It is said that Mr. Daly spent several years in New Zealand as a dealer in sheep.

(From Police Gazette, 15th May, 1878, page 139.) Henry Eckhouse, alias Blenkinson, uttered a forgery to Messrs. Greig and Murray, auctioneers, Collins Street West, Melbourne, on the 15th ultimo—O. 2848.—13th May, 1878.

John Wilson, Scotch or from North of Ireland, a carter, aged thirty-five years, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, stout build, round face, dark-brown curly hair, beard, whiskers, and moustache, may wear brown-tweed trousers and vest, blue paget coat and light-coloured hat, or ordinary working clothes, is charged, on warrant issued by the Inglewood Bench, with stealing a horse a spring dray with “W. Butler, Carrier, Inglewood ” painted on, a set of heavy spring dray harness, chain traces covered with leather, value £4O, from Maria Butler, Inglewood, on the Bth May. Offender was a servant of complainant’s, and absconded with the property described. He may . make for New Zealand, where his mother and brother are believed to have gone.—O. 2931.—14th May, 1878.
