House-Breaking, Stealing from the Person and from Dwellings.

Stolen on the 28th ultimo, from the dwelling of William Blewden, Cook Street, Auckland, a double-cased silver lever watch, No. 18270 ; maker, M. Hautrivo.

Stolen during January last, from the dwelling of Francis Innes, Nelson Street, Auckland, a large oval-shaped gold locket, with monogram on both, sides, JBW on one side, the letters on the other side not known ; value £5. Identifiable.

Stolen between the Ist ultimo and 13th instant, from the Royal Hotel, Featherston, 6 tablecloths, 9 sheets, 6 pillowslips, 3 pairs of white stockings, a pair of cuffs, a dozen pockethandkerchiefs, a pair of s. cks, and six napkins ; the property of George Lancaster ; value £5. Suspicion attached to Christina Croxford, who was employed as general servant in the hotel. Description : English, about forty years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high ; dark complexion, hair, and eyes.

Stolen on the Bth instant, from the shop door of Lewis Moss, Lambton Quay, Wellington, a dark-brown tweed, trousers and vest ; value £1 16s. Identifiable.

Stolen on the 6th instant, from the person of Ellen Muir, in the Princes Theatre, Dunedin, an old light-brown leather purse, with three compartments and elastic band, containing a £1 note and 20s. in silver. Purse identifiable.

Stolen between the 23rd April and 4th instant, from Dagmar House, Conference Street, Christchurch, a rough dark thick cloth single-breasted overcoat, common black lining, two outside pockets and an inside left.-breast pocket; the property of Walter Segley ; value £2 10s. Identifiable.

Stolen on the 2nd instant, from tho dwelling of George Wilson, Heathcote Valley, Canterbury District, a black-silk dress hat, with cork lining, value £1 10s ; and a pair of ovalshaped English gold earrings, carved in diamond pattern, value 10s. Identifiable. Suspicion attached to Henry Ford, a native of Birmingham, a brickmaker, twenty-six years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, medium build, fair complexion, light brown hair, small fair whiskers and moustache.

Stolen on the 6th instant, from the person of James O’Neill, in Dunedin, an old brown-leather purse, 4 inches by 2| inches, with yellow elastic band, containing four £5 notes on the National Bank.

Between 7 and 8 p.m. on the 14th instant, the dwelling of William Andrews, Allan Street, Wellington, was broken into, and six £1 notes and three sovereigns stolen therefrom. -

Stolen between the 6th and 9th instant, from the premises of James O’Neill, at the Glen, near Dunedin, a boy’s pair of grey-tweed trousers, with black stripes down sides, very little worn, and a nearly new black-and-white striped grey woollen shirt. Identifiable. Suspicion attached to a boy, name unknown, who was seen lurking about the place. Description : About twelve years of age, slight build, fair hair; wore a suit of yellow-striped grey moleskin, cloth cap without peak, and laceup boots. Identifiable.

Stolen on the Bth instant, from a room at the back of George Weston’s butcher’s shop, Kaiapoi, a dark-blue diagonalribbed cloth sac coat, with only an inside breast pocket, about half worn, and a red silk handkerchief. Identifiable. '
