Deserters from Merchant Vessels.
Alexander Carlo, Louis Macceri, Augu-to Busnuier, and George Biven, Frenchmen, are charged, on warrant issued by the Lyttelton Bench, with having, between (he 29th and 3lst ultimo, deserted from the barque “St. Argnnn,” at Lyttelton. Carlo is twenty years of age, 5 feet 5 or (! inches high, dark complexion, dark curly hair, small dark beard and whiskers, pockpitted; wore blue tight-fitting smock, watertight, boots, and cap with tassel on top; speaks English fluently. Macceri is forty years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, florid complexion, light-brown whiskers, beard, and moustache; wore grey tweed coat and vest, blue cloth trousers, soft black felt hat, and blueher boots; speaks English and Italian. Busnuier is fortyfive years of age, 5 feet. G inches high, fair complexion, dark heard and moustache; wore blue smock, light tweed trousers, and straw Hat.; speaks Italian. Biven is eighteen years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, dark complexion, no hair on face, supposed to bo wearing blue-cloth jacket, dark tweed trousers, elastic-side boots, and cap with peak ; speaks French only. It is supposed they have gone to Akaroa or Christchurch.
Rosmtts Pederson is charged withjhaving, on the 4th instant, deserted from the brigantine “Marie,” at Rattray Street Jetty, Dunedin. Description : A Dane, twenty yea's of age, 5 feet, 7 inches high, stout build, fair complexion, light-brown hair, blue eyes, no hair on face, walks wit h a stooping gait ; usually wears a blue monkey jacket; speaks bad English.
Charles Brown, Thomas Langley, William Lorensen, William Anderson, John Vonstibin, and Augusta Wallin, are charged, on warrant issued by the Lyttelton Bench, with having, on or about the Bth instant, deserted from the ship “ Opawa,” at Lyttelton. Description : Brown isa Swede, thirty years of age, 5 feet. 7 inches high, square build, fair complexion, fair beard, whiskers, and moustache. Langley is English, a joiner by trade, twenty-eight years of age, 5 feet 1L inches high, dark complexion, light moustache. Lorensen is a Dane, twenty-seven years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, fair hair, beard, whiskers, and moustache. Anderson is a Swede, twenty-four years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, fair complexion, fair hair, whiskers, and moustache. Vonstibin is a Hollander, twenty-six years of age, 5 feet. 7 inches high, fair complexion, fair hair and moustache. Wallin is a Swede, nineteen years of age, 5 feet. 7 inches high, fair complexion and hair, no whiskers, beard, or moustache. It is supposed they have gone to Christchurch or I.eeston.
