The man giving the name of Charles Graham, who has been arrested for John 11. Scott’s larceny, has been identified as John Lyons, who worked for a short time on the Hamilton Railway. Photographs of him are in the possession of the police at Hamilton, Stawell, Ballarat, Sandhurst, Geelong, Brisbane, Sydney, Hobart Town, Launceston, Dunedin, Christchurch, Wellington, and Detective Office, Melbourne. — 3307. 18th September, 1877.

John 11. Scott’s Larceny.— A man, name unknown, about forty-five years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, stout, clean-shaved, dark complexion, dressed in grey tweed suit, black half-yankee hat, and elastic-side boots split down the’front and piece of leather inserted to make them larger, was seen in company with Charles Graham, alias John Lyons, at Sandridge, on the 23rd ultimo, the date the latter was arrested.—O. 3307. 25tli September, 1877. (See New Zealand Police Gazette, 1877, pages 3 and 46.) Warrants expected for the arrest of Jacob Dallin and Adolph Kasner, for fraudulent insolvency. On the 24th ultimo they obtained, on credit, from Myers and Zox, merchants, Flinders Lane East, Melbourne, £1,200 worth of goods, which they sold much under value at Sandhurst - and other places, and absconded with the proceeds. Dallin is twentyeight years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, of thin build, has sallow complexion, Jewish nose, short black hair, thick black eyebrows and moustache, small whiskers; is showy in dress and jewellery. Kasner is twenty-five years of age, and of short thick build. Buth are Russian or German Jews, and hawkers; they wear ulster coats, and have with them two yellow portmanteaux and a black box. Photographs of Kasner are in the possession of the police at Adelaide, Brisbane, Sydney, Dunedin, Christchurch, Wellington, Auckland, Nelson, Hokitika, and Detective Office, Melbourne. —O. 5847. 18th September, 1877. /: James Corbett is charged, on warrant from the Melbourne Bench, with larceny as bailee of four ladies’ gold rings, the goods of Bertha McDonald, North British Hotel, Bourke and Swanston Streets, on the 12th instant. Description :—A native of Birmingham, an engraver, recently in business in Swanston Street, near Little Collins Street, twenty-eight years of age, 5 feet 4 inches, slender, fair pale complexion, fair hair, and moustache only,' wants one upper front tooth, another overlaps, lame in left leg, which was broken recently; wore dark tweed paget coat and trousers, and high hard black felt hat; round gold shirt studs, bead-pattern, with silver backs; very small hands, two plain gold rings on the left, with his name engraved on them in inside. He is supposed to have gone to New Zealand by the “ Arawata ” on the 12th instant. —0.5857. 18th September, 1877.

Silver watches —viz., 25599, Hill; 21289, Hamilton 96281, Settle ; 95056, Settle ; 1344, Russell; 97051, Settle; 2301, Rotherham; 81156, Bernard; 81152, Bernard ; and two, numbers not given when stolen.
