Deserting Wives and Families, &c.

William Henry Cooper Moore is charged, on warrant issued by the Dunedin Bench, with having deserted his wife at Dunedin on the 31st ultimo. Description : —A native of London, a labourer and seaman, twenty-seven years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, slight build, light-brown hair, dark complexion, thin brown whiskers and moustache, blue eyes, scar over one eye ; wore dark tweed suit, black felt hat, and elastic-side boots. He is accompanied by a woman known as “ Alice,” about thirty years of age, 5 feet 3 inches high, dark complexion and black hair, who had with her a girl about six years of age. It is believed he will endeavour to leave the colony with this woman.

Henry George Joedan is charged, on warrant issued by the Temuka Bench, with having deserted his wife at Temuka on the 29th ultimo. Description :English, has been a cabdriver in Christchurch,’ and has the appearance of a jockey, thirty-two years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, medium build: fair complexion, dark brown whiskers, beard and moustache, He left Temuka by train on the Ist instant, for Christchurch.
