DOCKS QUICKLY CLEARED FROM PASTURES & CROPS WITH SHELL hormone weedkillers Docks were completely cleared from this pasture (see photos at left) at a cost of only £2 per acre, by spraying w ’ t * l Shell Weedkiller “L”. Lucerne and clover crops being grown at the time were not affected J|S| One of the outstanding advantages of the new range of advanced hormone weedkillers introduced by Shell is the number of formerly “hards to-kill” weeds, such as docks, which have now been brought under control. Docks in pastures should be sprayed with 4| pts. of Shell Sjf/89 1 , Weedkiller “L”, with a minimum of 12 gals, water per acre. This will kill broad leafed and curled docks in the seedling stage. Older docks ■ will be checked but will require repeat applications before being completely eliminated. Shell Weedkiller “L” also kills or controls a wide range of annual and perennial weeds, including fathen, nettle, thistles, and plantains. Clovers and lucerne are resistant. ■ DOCKS IN CEREALS Docks in cereals can be controlled, without setting back the crops, by spraying with Shell Weedkiller “M” according to directions and at the times stipulated on the label of the tin. DOCKS IN PEAS, YOUNG PASTURES AND UNDERSOWN CEREALS Shell Weedkiller “P”, another highly selective weedicide, is recommended for the control of docks and many other weeds in peas, young pastures and delicate cereals.
