Lambing Estimates for 1953 Highest Recorded

The estimated lambing percentage and number of breeding ewes in the Dominion for 1953 are the highest on record. The lambing percentage of 97.27 is .79 per cent, higher than the previous record in 1949, and the number of breeding ewes is 818,030 higher than that for last year. Totals for counties, districts, and the Dominion are set out in the following tables, which have been contributed by the Animal Industry Division.
