CERTIFIED “STANDARD” SEED IN the past the term ‘Termanent Pasture” has been used to name the lowest class of Certified grass and clover seeds, except in the case of Italian ryegrass,, where the term “Commercial” has been used. In order to introduce uniformity through all varieties of Certified grass and clover seeds it has been decided that, commencing with the coming harvest, the description “Standard” will be used to identify •_ all grass and clover seeds certified in the lowest class, thus replacing the two names used in the past (i.e. “Permanent Pasture” and “Commercial”). For some little time a certain quantity of seed may still be marketed bearing tags carrying one or other of these latter names, but as this seed is disposed of the term “Standard” will become universally used. In the meantime farmers and merchants are assured that the alteration is one of name only, 1 and the terms Certified Standard and Certified Permanent Pasture or Commercial are for all practical purposes synonymous.
