VITAL TO VICTORY Railways' National Service In the war’s present phase transportation is just as vital to victory as it was two, three, five years ago. Industrial plants, mills, farms, factories all are united in producing ever-increasing quantities of essential foodstuffs, material and supplies for our Armed Forces and compatriots overseas. The greatest burden of this accelerated wartime industry falls upon Transportation which, in New Zealand, means the Railways. And it is largely because of Railways efficiency and reliability in handling the greatest transportation emergency of all time, that this country’s war effort maintains its proud distinction. Transportation is Half the Battle
