GRADING OF EXPORT BUTTER AND CHEESE.

LEADING DAIRY-FACTORY AVERAGES FOR YEAR 1932-33. Lists of co-operative butter and cheese manufacturing companies or proprietaries which have obtained for their export produce an average grade of 93 points and over for the past dairy year 1st August, 1932, to 31st July, 1933 — are given below. ■

Butter factories are well to the fore, ninety of these having exceeded an average grade of 93 points, as compared with eighty-seven for the previous year. Of this number, seventy-four have their produce graded in the North Island and sixteen in the South Island. Twenty-four of these companies averaged over 94 points, the highest individual average being 95-262. - _■

Seven cheese companies obtained a place in the list, as compared with twenty-five for the previous year, many companies just missing by a few decimal points. Six of the listed companies are situated in the South and one in the North Island.
