(By

“Lorgnette.”)

WELLINGTON, December 6.

It has now been definitely decided that the attraction for the Christmas season at the Grand Opera House will be the Marie Tempest Comedy Company. The repertoire will include a new comedy entitled “At the Barn,” and a number of comedies in which Miss Tempest created successes during her previous visit to New Zealand. Mr. John Farrell will act as business manager, and Mr. Charles M,. Berkeley as touring representative. After several weeks of strenuous rehearsal the management committee of the Wellington Amateur Operatic Society announce that the charming musical comedy “A Country G'irl” will be presented at the Grand Opera House to-morrow evening for a run of seven nights. The previous productions of the society have attained a well-deserved reputation, and it is said that this year’s. venture will prove no exception to the rule. “A Country Girl” will be produced by Mr. Tom Pollard, whilst Mr. Bernard Page will conduct.
