FEILDING JOCKEY CLUB.

SPRING MEETING. The Feilding Jockey Club will hold their spring meeting on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 30 and December 1, and the substantial stakes to be offered at this popular fixture should ensure splendid fields in the various events. Altogether the large sum of £5OOO is being distributed for the sixteen races, £2850 being allocated for the first day’s events, and £2150 for the sceond day. The chief event on the opening day is the St. Andrew’s Handicap, of 700 sovs., 1% miles, in which a particularly strong field, including several Auckland Cup candidates, is certain to be on hand to dispute supremacy. Special interest will be centred in the Fifteenth Feilding Stakes, of 500 sovs., five furlongs, and . there is every prospect of a particularly good response being made by owners when final payments for this event fall due on Tuesday, November 16, at 8.30 p.m. The Flying Handicap, of 400sovs., six furlongs, will provide sprinters with the opportunity of earning a valuable stake The Waituna Hurdles Handicap, of 300sovs., 1% miles, can be depended upon to attract a wide degree of patronage from owners of jumpers, while an event which is also certain to induce a good nomination is the Kiwitea Welter Handicap, of 35050v5., one mile and 54 yards. The hack division have* been well catered for, the following three events being provided for their needs on the opening day:—-Kowhai Hack Handicap, of 200 sovs., seven furlongs; Fitzroy Hack Handicap, of 200sovs., six furlongs; and the Aorangi Trial Plate, of 200 sovs., 5V 2 furlongs, for three-year-olds and upwards that have never won a race exceeding 50sovs. in value at time of starting, weight 8.0. The Manchester Handicap, of 400 sovs., 1% miles, and the Oroua Stakes, of 35050v5., 5% furlongs, weight for age, will occupy principal attention on the second day. The York Handicap, of 300sovs., seven furlongs, and the Empire Welter Handicap, of 250 sovs., one mile and a distance, will assuredly both attract fields of good size and quality, while the Chelten-. ham Hurdles Handicap, of 25050v5., miles, will again see the jumping division in action. The remaining second day’s events are allotted to the hack class, being as follows: — Nikau Hack Handicap, of 200sovs., six furlongs; Rongotea Hack Handicap. of 200sovs., one mile and 54yds.; and the Novice Stakes, of 200sovs., 5% furlongs, weight 8.8, for three-year-olds and upwards that have never won a race exceeding the value of 50 sovs. at time of starting.
