FUTURE CLASSIC EVENTS.

Owners and trainers should bear in mind that entries for a- number of classic events to be decided at future meetings of the leading racing clubs in the Dominion are due on Friday, September 3. .On the date mentioned entries fall due for the Sixteenth Feilding Stakes, of 65050v5., five furlongs, for horses two-year-olds and upwards at the time of starting, weight-for-age, to be run at the Feilding J.C.’s spring meeting on November 30, 1921. and must be lodged with the secretary, Mr. Edmd. Goodbehere, Feilding, by 5 p.m. This important classic lias been increased in value by 150sovs. and should attract the best of the eligible candidates in the Dominion. No money is required at the time of nomination, while it should be noted that first forfeits will be declared on September 1, 1921, which is a month later than has been the case in previous years.

On September 1 the Egmont Racing Club will take entries for the two classics, Egmont Stakes and Hawera Stakes, which will come up for decision on the first and second days of their summer meeting in February, 1922. Entries must be lodged with the secretary, Mr. V. B. Stratton, P.O. Box 51. Hawera. The Egmont Stakes, of 500sovs., six furlongs, is open to horses two years old (present yearlings) and upwards at time of starting, weight for age, with penalties and allowances. The Hawera Stakes of 500 sovs., one mile, is for horses three years old and upwards at time of starting, weight for age, with penalties and allowances. Entries for the Wanganui Guineas (1921) and the Jackson Stakes (1922) are due with the secretary, Mr. Wm. Hall, at 8 p.m. Hall, on September 3 at 8 p.m. The Wanganui Guineas, a sweepstake of lOsovs. each for starters, with 500 sovs. added, one mile, for three-year-olds (present two-year-olds), has invariably attracted a good field, and a splendid response from owners is anticipated next month. The Jackson Stakes, of 500sovs., for two-year-olds (present yearlings) and upwards, weight for age, six furlongs, will be run at the Wanganui J.C.’s autumn meeting in 1922.
