MANAWATU RACING CLUB.
CLASSICS REQUIRING ATTENTION.
The Manawatu Racing Club’s classic races for 1920, 1921 and 1922 will require the attention of owners and breeders on or before June 11, and from the advertisement in another part of this issue it will be seen what the conditions are. The Palmerston North Stakes, 1920, is worth 500sovs., and now yearlings are eligible, the entries for older horses having closed. For the Palmerston North Stakes, 1921, of 500sovs., now yearlings and older horses are
eligible, but foals of 1919 can be entered at a later date. For the Manawatu Sires’ Produce Stakes, the thirteenth, yearlings ’ the progeny of nominated sires are eligible, and the names of the sires, twenty in all, are furnished in the advertisement. The stake for the race named has been increased by 150sovs., and is now worth 75050v5., the sum of 75sovs. going to the nominator of the sire of the winner, and 25sovs. to the nominator of the sire of the second horse. The prize for the Seventeenth Manawatu Stakes is worth 75050v5., aVd has been increased by 25050v5., now yearlings being eligible, and for the Manawatu Stakes, the eighteenth, for all ages, yearlings and older horses are eligible, and foals of 1919 will be at a date to be fixed in 1921. The nomination of sires for the Manawatu Sires’ Produce Stakes of 1921 will also be taken on June 11, but the date for nominating yearlings will be fixed next year. Mr. J. M. Johnson, secretary, will then have a busy time.
