WAIPA RACING CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. The Waipa Racing Club’s annual meeting, which is to lie held on Saturday at Te Awamutu, is the next of the country meetings in Auckland to receive attention, and with the prospects of some excellent racing, the gathering promises to attract turf enthusiasts from all parts of the province. Angleform, by the ex-New Zealander Cruciform, carried 12.13 to victory in the Second Hurdle Race at Randwick on January 26, and won in 3min. 46sec. over the two-mile journey. He won easily after leading over the last five furlongs. The nearest to- him in weight, Fighting Chance, had 10.3, and ran second.

A. Reed and C. Stowe, with three wins each, were the most successful riders at the Gisborne R.C.’s summer meeting, while Tricklebank, Manson and McFlinn each rode a brace of winners apiece, Dixon, Hockley, C. Reed and McLean each steering one winner.

In order to make room for a number of young horses the Gisborne trainer. F. Loomb, offered Happy Valley, Carlysian, Downham, Principal Lady, Rippling, Chairman, Goldenlight ‘ and Firespark for sale at his training stables on Friday. Most of the number were passed in, but Carlysian was purchased by Mr. W. Martin for 25gns., and Downham by Mr. P. Rogers for 20 gns. A yearling colt by Therwan was passed in at 80gns„ and Happy Valley at 75gns.
