F. Bullock was in good form at the V.R.C. October meeting, winning the three principal races: The Stand Handicap on Lucknow, the Maribyr-. nong Trial Stakes on Etive, and the October Stakes on Nightwatch.
The dividend returned by Rose Wreath when she carried 9.4 into second place in the October Handicap on the opening day at Trentham was of substantial dimensions, considering the fact that the daughter of Kilbroney the previous week had accounted for the field in the Railway Hack Handicap on the concluding day of the Masterton fixture in good style. The fact that she was carrying a 71b. penalty for her win at Opaki no doubt caused many to neglect her in the October Handicap at Trentham.
