REGULATIONS To which the attention of persons entering horses is particularly directed. All races to be run under . the N.Z. Rules of Racing. Entries by telegram must be confirmed in writing at the earliest possible opportunity. Owners, trainers, and others are notified that Entries or Acceptances must be accompanied by the necessary amount in cash, unless previous arrangements have been made otherwise. , - n Owners are responsible for all penalties and allowances. All persons intending to withdraw horses are required to give notice to that effect to the Secretary or Clerk of the Scales one half hour before the official time of starting the race. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply with this rule shall pay a fine, to be imposed by the Stewards, not exceeding 20 sovs., to the Race Fund. Prior to any race, the Stewards may •rder a parade in front of the stand. The owner of any horse absent from such parade without the permission of the Stewards will be fined 2 sovs. No jockey shall be weighed out for any race unless the amount of his minimum fee, as for a losing mount in the race, has been previously deposited with the Secretary or Clerk of the Scales, or other Official appointed by the Stewards for that purpose. If he wins the balance of his fee shall be deducted from the stakes otherwise payable to the owner, and shall be paid to him. The Club shall be responsible to the jockey for his minimum fee under these Rules.' All licensed apprentices under the age of 21 years who have not ridden 15 winners shall be permitted to claim a 51b. allowance in all Selling Races, and in all Handicaps of the value of not more than 150sovs. to the winner.
