AUTUMN The autumn meeting of the Otahuhu Trotting Club will be opened at Alexandra Park on Saturday next, and judging by the splendid character of the acceptances received some first-class racing should be witnessed by the club’s patrons. The visiting contingent is strongly represented at the fixture, and the presence of so many wellknown southern performers will lend additional interest to what promises to be the most successful autumn meeting yet held by the club. Keen interest is being centred in the attempt which is to be made upon the Australasian record on each day of the meeting by Hardy Wilkes for the purse of 250sovs offered by the club. The Otahuhu Trotting Cup Handicap promises to provide a fine race over the two miles, the field being strong both as regards size and quality. The. meeting will be concluded on Wednesday next, May 21.
