ANNUAL MEETING.

The Thames Jockey Club’s annual meeting is drawing nearer, and the addition of a second day makes it doubly attractive. The executive intend doing all they can to maintain its popularity, and are making arrangements to have special steamers running on both days, as well as special trains. This will be a great help towards success, as many Auckland people will make the trip if the facilities are improved. The hon. secretary, Mr. Jas. Rennick, Box 7 Thames, has issued the bill-of-fare. The Goldfields Cup is worth 25050v5., the First Handicap Steeplechase 130sovs., and the Stewards’ Handicap 120sovs. The Thames Plate on the second day is worth 200sovs. and Thames Handicap Steeplechase 130sovs., and there are seven races of lOOsovs. each, two of 90sovs„ one of SOsovs., and one of 70sovs. There are two hurdle races, two maiden handicaps, two hack handicaps with stated conditions, and races to suit horses in each department of the racing business, with the exception of two-year-old events. Mr. Rennick will take the nominations on March 8. or they can be made with Mr. R. Wynyard, Vulcan Lane, Auckland, on or before that date.
