By MULTIFID (a high-class racehorse and sire, son of Multiform, without doubt one of the greatest racehorses and. sires of his time) from LADY NELL (a good performer, by Birkenhead, sire of winners of over £lOO,OOO, from Lady Helen, daughter of St. Leger, leading sire in New Zealand for some years, from dam of Royal Artillery, a first-class racehorse and sire in New Zealand and America, and of Strathmore, Hilda, Balista, Hazel, Brown Alice, Novelette, Chiara, Lady Cecelia and Lady Helen, each in turn winner producers of class), by Yattendon, a great progenator, whose name is revered throughout Australasia. Heriot, dam of Multifid, was got by Grafton, whose progeny have won over £215,000, from Grafin, daughter of the great Musket horse Carbine, whose name figures in the pedigrees of many of the greatest performers in the colonies and in England and whose performances mark him one of the greatest racehorses the world has known. LORD MULTIFID was an exceptionally brilliant colt, but after winning one race in Australia accidentally received an injury to his jaw and this alone prevented him being raced further. He is a fine dark brown horse, standing 16 hands, and is to serve a limited number of mares at £l5 15s„ and good paddocking will be provided at 2s. 6d. per week.
