LADIES’ GOLF.

Manawatu. In the final for the ladies’ senior championship Mrs. L. Seifert beat Mrs. J. P. Innes after a most exciting contest, the last three holes being halved. Mrs. Seifert played steadily and well throughout the contest * * • « Mornington, Wellington. The competition played on the American tournament system (everybody plays everybody), for a silver rose bowl presented by Dr. R. A. Cameron, was won by Mrs. Hawson on the play off of a tie with Mrs. Thorp, both competitors having won ten matches out of twelve. In the final match Mrs. Hewson won by four strokes, which was the exact amount of the difference of the handicaps. The second prize went to Mrs. Thorp, and the third to Miss H. Laurenson.
