MASTERTON RACING CLUB.

SPRING MEETING. Great interest is being centred in the Masterton Racing Club’s spring meeting, which is to be held on October 17 and 18, and the declaration of the weights by Mr. J. ,-E. Henrys for the first day’s events has aroused much enthusiasm in sporting circles in view of the New Zealand Cup meeting following less than three weeks later. A number of New Zealand Cup candidates claim engagements in the Masterton Cup on Thursday next, and as acceptances for the first day’s racing close with Mr. A. Hathaway, the secretary, on Friday evening, October 11, at 5 p.m. the intentions of owners and trainers will become clearer to those seeking a solution of the big two-mile event at Riccarton next month.
