LADIES’ GOLF.

Red Cross Matches. Previously acknowledged, £3 Bs.; Maungakiekie, £2 25.; Hokitika, £3; total, £8 10s. * * * * Auckland. The Red Cross monthly medal played by members of the Auckland Ladies’ G'olf Club was won by Miss S. Henderson, her score being 85 gross, 11 handicap, net 74. The semi-finals of the Hope Lewis Cup, played by the members of the Auckland Ladies’ Golf Club, resulted as follows: —Miss S. Henderson defeated Miss Eileen Culling, 1 up at the 18 th; Miss Muriel Pay ton defeated Miss Sybil Payton, 7 up and 5 to play. The final between Miss Henderson and Miss M. Payton will be played on a date to the arranged. * * * * Hamilton. At the annual meeting of the Hamilton Ladies’ Golf Club the following officers were elected: —President, Mrs. H. T. Gillies; vice-presidents, Mesdames C, F. Bond, W. H. Hume, E. B. Heywood, C. L. Mac Diarmid, E. J. Stewart, and A. J Storey; captain, Mrs. H. Douglas; vice-captain, Miss Wilkinson; hon. treasurer, Miss Ring; hon. secretary, Miss Stevens; committee, Mesdames E. R. Gresham, D. Hay, Misses Cussen, Heywood, Provis.

Westport. Miss Snodgrass, owing to change of residences has resigned the hon. secretaryship of this club, after holding the position for some thirteen years. Miss Snodgrass was also the leading player in the- club, having upheld the position of champion for several years. In addition to playing a fine game herself, she was a willing coach to many of the younger players, and will undoubtedly be greatly missed by her fellow members. Miss Mary Enright has been elected secretary for the current season. * * * * Hokitika. Mrs. Stewart has taken up the secretaryship of Hokitika, vice Mrs. Boyd, resigned after some five or six years of office'. This club is making a special effort in support of the N.Z. L.G.U. Red Cross matches this season. In addition to holding a monthly match, the lady members are catering for the afternoon teas, all profits going to the fund. As a result of their labours they have forwarded the sum of £3 for the month of May.
