ENTRIES for NOW YEARLINGS for the Welcome Stakes (1918) Great Northern Foal Stakes (1918-19), 24th Royal Stakes (1918-19), Great Northern Champagne Stakes (19.19), Great Northern Oaks (1919), Great Northern Guineas (1919), 46th Great Northern Derby (1919-20), Great Northern St. Leger (1920), and for YEARLINGS and TWO-YEAR-OLDS for the 25th Royal Stakes (1919-20), will CLOSE by 9 p.m. on FRIDAY, JUNE 14, 1918. No money is required at time of nomination. Entries for the foregoing events can be made with the Secretary of the A.R.C., at his office, Shortland Street, or With the Secretary of the C.J.C., Christchurch; D.J.C., Dunedin; W.R.C., Wellington* H.8.J.C., Hastings; V.R.C., Melbourne; A.J.C., Sydney, up to the time specified. In the event of any horse entered with the Auckland Racing Club in either of the above-mentioned races dying before the first forfeit becomes due, the owner shall not be liable for payment of forfeit, provided that he gives notice and supplies proof of death before the first forfeit becomes due... The Committee reserve the right to vary the following Programme as circumstances may necessitate. SPRING MEETING, 1918. THE WELCOME STAKES, 1918 (for now Yearlings) of lOOOsovs; first horse to receive 600sovs, second horse 200sovs, and third horse 100 sovs out of the stake. The other lOOsovs to go to the breeder of the winner, provided that the horse is bred in New Zealand. In the event of this condition not being fulfilled, the lOOsovs to go to the first horse. Colts, 8.5; geldings, 8.2; fillies, 8.0. By subscription of lOsovs each, unless forfeit of Isov is declared and paid by 9 p.m. on General Entry Day, Spring Meeting, 1918. All horses remaining in after that date must pay the subscription of lOsovs on a day to be named shortly before the race. All forfeits go to make up or increase the stake. Five furlongs. 3UMMEK MEETING, 1918-19. GREAT NORTHERN FOAL STAKES, 1918-19 (for now Yearlings) of 1000 sovs; first horse to receive 600sovs, second horse 200sovs, and third horse lOOsovs out of the stake. Winner after Ist August, 1918, of any race or races collectively of the value of 250sovs, 31b; of 500sovs, 51b; of 750sovs, 71b; of lOOOsovs, 101 b extra. Maiden four-year-olds at time of starting allowed 141 b; three-year-olds, 101 b; two-year-olds, 71b. By subscription of lOsovs each, unless forfeit of Isov is declared and paid by 9 p.m. on General Entry Day, Summer Meeting, 1918-19. All horses remaining in after that date must pay their total subscription of 10 sovs on a day to be named shortly before the race.
