WEIGHTS for all First Day’s events will be declared on TUESDAY, MARCH 5, 1918, at 8 p.m. ACCEPTANCES for Omaranui Hack Handicap Hurdle Race, Esk Hack Handicap, Napier Cup Handicap, Welter Handicap, Sapling Stakes Handicap, Redclyffe Hack Handicap, Flying Handicap and ENTRIES for Trial Hack Stakes and Maiden Hack Scurry. FRIDAY, MARCH 8, 1918, at 8 p.m. (Night of First Day’s Races.) WEIGHTS for all the Second Day’s events will be declared. ACCEPTANCES for all the Second day’s events at 9 pm. HACK DEFINITION. No horse shall be eligible to start in a “Hack” race which has won a race of the value of 150sovs, or races of the collective value of 400sovs at time of nomination. The amount won by any horse in flat races, hurdle races or steeplechases respectively shall not render such horse ineligible except in the special class of race in which it has won such amount. PENALTIES'. Flat Races. —The winner of any flat race after the declaration of weights to carry a penalty of 101 b, and of every additional race a further penalty of 61b. Horses handicapped at 8.10 or over to carry only half the above penalties.
