ELLERSLIE ITEMS.

During the week most of the Ellerslie horses engaged at the remaining country fixtures were kept up to the collnr. On Saturday the inner grass was open, where most of the horses galloped. Rosori alone galloped six furlongs, registering Imin 18 l-ssec. The filly was tiring at the finish. Loyal Arch put in long slow work alone. Wartime ran five furlongs, the last half-mile taking 52sec. The Celt, with J. Anderton in the saddle, went round the tan at a strong pace, sprinting up the straight. McCarty’s big green chestnut displayed pace and style in a few furlongs sprint. After breakfast Idra and Silver Lupin were tried over the grass circuit, the former winning by a clear length in Imin 4G 2-ssec —a fair gallop. Ring Lupin sprinted half a mile in 49sec, finishing up his task well. Waihinepai and Juanna had a four furlong flutter leaving the distance behind in 50 l-ssec, the former having a length the best of the gallop. Master Regel, after warming up on the tan, flew four of the schooling battens, giving a speedy display of clean hurdle jumping. Chilblain scampered over four furlongs on the sand in 51sec. Signo and Caber Feagh circled the grass at top. The bout was all in favour of the former. Waimai and Captain Loci', after a little exercise, jumped the sod wall double fences and the ston° wall.
